The upcoming Christmas and New Year season is a great time to evaluate your year and set new goals.
As a Realtor, setting goals is necessary. There is no one to hold you accountable (unless you are on a team), and if you don’t have goals to meet, your sales can fall flat.
Be realistic when setting goals, if you don’t believe you can achieve a goal, why set it? Remember that goals are meant to motivate you. If you’re unrealistic, goals can discourage you.
Dr. Lee Davenport asked our Realtors, here at Village Realty, to ask themselves these questions and help them review their year. Being honest with yourself will encourage you to do even better in 2018.
Year round up and 2018 goals
Total income goal – take the limits out
What was my average commission for 2017?
Number of transactions needed to reach 2018 income goal?
Percentage of closed sales that were listings in 2017?
Number of listings next year to hit your goal?
Number of buyers needed to meet next goal?
How many signed brokerage agreements are needed per month?
Hours each week you will devote to real estate? (make sure to take out vacation/ sick days/ holidays)
Percentage of these hours solely dedicated to marketing and prospecting?
When will be your off days/ vacation?
And in case you’re not feeling motivated, I’ll leave you with this inspirational quote:
“A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work.” --Colin Powell
