Phrases like “cutting edge,” “lots of moving parts,” and “scalable” are all terms we hear over and over again in the corporate world. They are overused, redundant and therefore, have lost their meaning.
Every type of business has these words, including real estate. After home searching for some time, clients begin to hear the same phrases for every home. But every home is different, so why do so many phrases get over used?
It’s time to change it up; clients are tired of hearing overused Realtor phrases. Here are 5 overused real estate jargons that should retire.
Instead just compliment the features of the home that don’t need TLC.
Updated does not mean up-to-date. This is fine to say if the kitchen has been updated in the past year or two. But if the home was “updated” in 2005… It’s out of date.
“Will not last”
“You must buy it today” (or tomorrow).
“Room for a pool”
There is nothing quite like advertising something that the house doesn’t (but could) have.
Everything has potential. Don’t tell your clients this, instead, explain to them why this house could work for their family.
It’s time to get clients more excited about properties. Be engaging, know their wants, their likes, dislikes etc. The buyer wants to hear why he or she should buy this home and what makes it perfect for them.
